Junior Golf Academy
The Steve Russell Golf Academy is committed to the development of junior golf in and around the Bridgnorth area.
The Academy has a structured junior coaching programme providing a broad introduction into golf covering all aspects of the game. The programme creates a pathway for juniors from 5 years old guiding them through to full adult membership.

Junior Golf Coaching Programme
The Steve Russell Golf Academy Junior coaching programme runs from April to October on Saturday afternoons.
Juniors age 5 and upwards are all welcome. (All Juniors aged 5 must be accompanied by an adult during the coaching sessions)
The lessons give a broad introduction into golf covering all aspects of the game.
Each group consists of 8 - 10 juniors of similar ability.
The coaching is based on a structured 5 week course.
At the end of each 5 week course the juniors will receive a work book covering the various aspects of the game featured in the previous weeks together with a certificate relative to the Level they have passed.
Demand for places on the junior coaching programme is very high, so to avoid disappointment it is necessary to book your place in advance.
The 5 week course at 1 hour a week costs £25

Junior Members Club Night
Bridgnorth Golf Club Junior members' club night
The Steve Russell Golf Academy and Bridgnorth Golf Club have introduced a junior club night, helping with the transition from the Junior Golf Academy to junior membership and playing golf on the full size course.
When juniors in the Golf Academy reach a certain level, they are encouraged to become junior members of Bridgnorth Golf Club. Once a member of the club they are eligible to take part in the Wednesday evening club night and coaching.
By closing the 1st three holes between 6pm -7.30pm the young golfers are shown how to play on the golf course using the correct clubs and etiquette.
(These sessions are all provided free of charge to the juniors members.)
Junior members club night-for juniors without a handicap (Free coaching)
Junior members without handicaps will be given free coaching either on the practise ground or over the 1st three holes.
(When junior members without handicaps achieve achieve a certain standard over the 1st three holes, they will be encouraged to start playing 9 holes to help them obtain an official club handicap.)
Junior Members club night- for juniors with a handicap (9 holes Stableford)
Junior members with handicaps will be encouraged to come and play 9 holes or more. Juniors playing should start from the 4th tee at 6pm.
The more experienced junior members will be encouraged to take the juniors with high handicaps out on the course explaining and demonstrating etiquette and various rules.
